The precautions used while a substance is in service can remain relevant while its waste is stored. The waste then needs suitable packaging, segregation and an authorised facility able to receive it. A well-maintained COSHH file does not mean every chemical listed in it can be placed in the same disposal stream.
Contaminated materials and process residues
Wipes, absorbents and process residues may contain the same chemical in a different form or concentration from the original product. They should be described according to the waste actually present, including any contamination introduced during use.
